Malaysia Common Criteria Certification Body (MyCB)

Malaysia, through CyberSecurity Malaysia was accepted as a consuming member of the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA) on 28 March 2007. Following this achievement, CyberSecurity Malaysia was appointed as the sole certification body for the evaluation and certification scheme based on MS ISO/IEC 15408: 2005 Information Technology - Security Techniques - Evaluation Criteria for IT Security on 28 October 2008. This certification body is known as the Malaysian Common Criteria Certification Body (MyCB).

The services under MyCB include carrying out certification on ICT products and system, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Malaysian Common Criteria Evaluation and Certification (MyCC) Scheme.

About the MyCC Scheme

This is a systematic process for evaluating and certifying the security functionality of ICT products and systems against defined criteria or standards. The MyCC Scheme mission is to increase Malaysia's competitiveness in quality assurance of information security based on the Common Criteria (CC) standard. MyCC also intends to boost consumers confidence in Malaysian ICT products and systems. To ensure high standards of competence, impartiality and consistency, the MyCB has been put in charge of the MyCC Scheme.

The development of the MyCC Scheme is crucial to fulfill the requirements demanded for recognition as a CCRA Authorising Participant. It is through this that Malaysian certified products and systems will be recognised by CCRA participanting countries. Spearheading the successful transition from a consuming to authorising membership is the MyCB. With that, the MyCC Scheme Development is expected to reach a key milestone by 2010.
